Before Intravenous Anesthesia Sedation

Home Instructions Before Oral Surgery

Patients having IV anesthesia: it is for your welfare that a responsible adult must accom- pany you to our office, remain here during surgery (approximately one hour), and stay with you at home for at least 12 hours. (Uber and Lyft are not allowed)

  1. You may NOT have anything to eat or drink for six to eight hours prior to surgery
  2. Brush teeth and rinse with mouth wash prior to the

  5. Please wear loose fitting clothing with sleeves that can be rolled up past the elbow and flat shoes.
  6. The patient should not drive a vehicle or operate any machinery for 24 hours following the anesthesia experience.
  7. Do NOT use marijuana or any unprescribed medications for 24 hours prior to
  8. No smoking 3 days prior to surgery and 1 week after surgery.
